BackPacks

The Brazos Valley Food Bank’s Backpack Program provides food for children over the weekend in a backpack discreetly distributed every Friday throughout the school year.  Schools are provided 25 backpacks per week to provide to children at risk of going hungry over the weekend.  These backpacks provide children not only needed nourishment but school readiness, self-confidence and a self-assured start to the school day and week.  During the summer months, scaled down Backpack Programs operate at recreation centers and other venues.
